Michael Townsend – June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month. This special month illustrates the importance of fruits and vegetables in our diets. Not only do fruits and vegetables provide health benefits, but they can prevent many serious diseases. It is recommended that children eat 3-5 servings of vegetables and 2-4 servings of fruit each day. Younger children should have 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit each day.
